There have been weeks of wind and rain over the summer season in Great Britain. And there is nothing unusual this coming bank holiday weekend. Between Friday August 25 and Sunday September 3 the Met Office predicted heavy rain and occasional strong winds across a large part of the UK. In the wake of last week's storm Betty, which struck Britain on Friday night and Saturday morning, a yellow warning has been issued for wind in parts of Wales. In addition to July, which was the wettest on record in parts of the UK, this August has been a wet one. However, many parts of Wales are expected to experience dry and sunny weather with a maximum temperature of 22C on Tuesday, August 22 before the bank holiday washout. However, the Met Office had been predicting dry weather for this end of August but recent forecasts now indicate that a "widespread unsettled situation" may occur in late August before the bank holiday weekend.
